1881 - Hampton Begins Moving to Present Day Gordon
1881 - First Baptist Moves to Gordon
1882 - School Opens in Gordon
1882 - Methodist Church Moves to Gordon
1883 - Post Office Moves and Opens in Gordon (Oct 17)
1885 - First Wooden First Baptist Building is Built
1886 - First Mine Shaft Opened Near What Would Become Thurber
1887 - Notorious Rube Burrow Robs Second Train at Depot(Jan 23 - 2:00AM)
1888 - Nearby Thurber Becomes a Town
1897 - Thurber Brick Plant Opens
1897 - A Large Two Story School Building is Built
1900 - A New Brick Methodist Church is Dedicated

1923 - Construction Begins on a New Two Story Brick School

1936 - Thurber Becomes a Ghost Town as Last Businesses Close
1942 - Gordon Home Front Newspaper Begins its Run (April 15)
1942 - Gordon's Thurman Tucker Joins Chicago White Sox
1943 - New Baptist Church Opens and is Dedicated (June 13)
1945 - First Gordon High Annual "The Longhorn" Published
1947 - The Tucker Car, on a U.S. Sales Tour, Makes a Stop in Town

1951 - New Methodist Church is dedicated (December 9)
1955 - Longhorns Switch to the Six-Man Football Format

1967 - New High School Building is Constructed
